With X Monetizing via Ads Revenue Sharing, I know many of you are looking to make a little extra money doing something you enjoy doing.
Shit Posting On X! As a shit poster getting over 2 million impressions per week here are some Tips & Tricks to grow your account, get monetized, and maximize your earnings on X!
Lets Dive In!
X Ads Revenue Sharing Program Eligability
Before we get into how to grow your account and get monetized on X we should first review the program eligibility requirements.
At a high level your X account must
Pay $8/month to have a verified account with a check mark
Be in good standing
Have been active for 3+ months
Have 500 Followers
Reach 5 Million Impressions in a 90 day period
There are other requirements such as basic profile setup with a picture and description to company specific requirements, but the above requirement are the core things you must meet. the requirements may change at anytime so here’s a link the X Creators Monetization Standards for your refference
Set Goals
The first thing you need to do is establish your goals.
Where do you want to be in a year on this platform?
How much time are you willing to put in?
There are no right or wrong answers, just be honest and keep your expectations realistic. If you do want to do this understand it will take time, consistency, and an $8/ Month X Subscriptions to get your account verified and eligible to be considered for monetization later.
Followers
For anyone starting out I recommend starting with growing your followers, if you don't have any followers it's going to be very hard to grow bigger.
A good goal to shoot for is 1,000 followers. This means you’ve learned the basics of the X platform, and have figured out a voice/style that people respond well to.
Also the more followers you have the more organic engagement you'll have which will help you in the following steps. I hate to admit it but the more followers you have the more followers you get, it's a bit of a snowball. If someone clicks on your portfolio and sees you have 5 followers you have no "X Cred".
But if they see your profile and see you have 50,000 Followers they are highly likely to follow along, I mean how could 50,000 people be wrong?
They'll stick around to see what you're all about. Of course, they can unfollow if they decide they aren't entertained by your shit posting later.
Consistancy
As you learn the basics of shit posting, take this time to get your account properly setup to maximize conversion of casual viewers into loyal followers. You should have the following items on your main profile page
· A sweet profile pic
· A clever bio written by Chat GPT
· Any links you want people to know about in your bio.
· Add any posts that have done well for you to your “Highlights tab
· Pin an introduction post to the top of your provile
You should also set up some lists of accounts you like to engage with
If you don’t know what some of the above items means, that’s ok, there are some great guides online conveniently searchable thru google.
you'll notice that people start following along. It'll start slowly, but if you show up every day you'll get better.
The algorithm will start to love the smell of your shit, and you'll find your friends that have similar interests. Have fun with it and keep grinding until you hit that 1,000 mark before moving to the next step.
Getting to 5 Million Impressions
Ok you've been grinding and you've hit 1,000 follows!! sweet!
This is kind of like in Diablo II when you beat the first realm only to realize hell awaits you ahead.
Now that you're one of the cool kids it's time to start gearing up to make a run at the 5 Million impressions you need in 90 days to get accepted into X Ads Revenue Sharing.
This breaks down into
56.6K impressions per day
388.9K impressions per week
1.67 Million impressions per month
Here is a link to the X Analytics Tools (Web Browser Only) to review your impression stats.
You can also access weekly numbers in the app under the menu >Premium > Analytics
With only 1,000 followers this will not be an easy feat, but there are some hacks you can use to make it happen.
For me the following 3 things have been most important
Posting Schedule
Replying to bigger accounts
Triggering reactions
Posting Schedule
Posting schedule is important because you want to reach as many eyes as possible, not everybody is on at the same time.
Also the algorithm will suppress you if you post too much, so focus on quality over quantity for original posts on your main page (doesn't apply to replies more on this later)
I personally try to target the following times (all in Eastern Standard Time (EST))
7AM* (Usually a scheduled post**)
9AM
11AM*
1PM
3PM
5PM*
7PM
Scheduling posts is only available on the online/ web version of X at the time of this writing. you can also pay for a service such as HypeFury to assist with scheduling tweets.
Now this seems like a lot but it's only 7 Original Posts, so make them bangers.
If you have more ideas schedule them out or save them as drafts and send them when you don't have much time in a future time slot.
Drafts can be saved by clicking cancel after writing a post. To access the draft click and hold the “+” sign in the app main page to pull up a list of drafts, and posts that failed to send.
Also note that drafts are saved to the device and are not accesiable from other devices.
If you don't have 7 for the day target the 3 I put an * on, these are you prime time slots to hit.
Spacing your post out does several things.
· Gives each post space to be discovered and not get crowded out by your other posts
· Improves quality
· Maximizes return on effort. (who wants to write 100 post that get 10 views?)
With only 7 original posts about 5-6 the algorithm goes meh on, don't take it personally. But you should be getting at least 1 that gets 6-10K+ impressions.
So this is only around 10-15K impressions per day. where do the other 45K impressions come from?
Replying To Bigger Accounts
We need to do 55.6K per day (5 million / 90 days) to hit that magic 5 million in 3 months. So to get the remaining 40-45K views you'll need by utilize a strategy I call "Coat Tailing"
This is where you interact with bigger accounts with the hope of getting impressions from their followers. It's actually a good way to get followers too.
Definition: Coat Tailing -A term that means riding off the success of others
Now you don't want to go for the biggest accounts like Elon Musk. As soon as he posts something the comments are instantly spammed to oblivion and your post will be buried and never seen again.
Ideally you'll target accounts between 10K and 1M followers. These accounts are big enough that just replying to them will get you some decent engagement.
It's kind of like being a groupie, you have to get close to the rock stars if you wanna get some action.
This phase won't last forever but do what you gotta do to get noticed as you slowly work your numbers up to the magic 5 Million/90 days.
I've created a list of "Big Accounts" whenever I'm having a slow day I open it up and reply to 10-15 posts that look like they are doing well every couple hours.
This will help get your impressions numbers up quicker.

Triggering Reactions
Outrage is the new currency, you see it in talk shows, blog posts, the news, social media. Don't hate the players hate the game.
X is a platform that generates revenue by selling ads. To sell ads they need people on this platform as long as possible.
One of the best ways to help X achieve this goal is to reply with a little "Color" to get people excited. The idea is to get someone excited so they just have to respond to you. then 2 people who agree with you have to respond to them. Then their supporters jump in and well you get the idea. (Look up Trevors Axiom for some interesting theory on online engagement)
One I like to do it "your house isn't part of your NW"
All the Real Estate folks get upset because you bruised their egos
Accountants will always say "assets-liabilities=NW you fool"
Boomers will jump in and say "he's right be conservative, home equity isn't of much real use"
You just sit back, smile, and watch as you rake in 10K impressions on one reply. Now if you're willing to wade into muddy trenches (up to you) you can expand this to political figures, sports, and other areas that people get irrationally emotional over.
It’s wise to use the mute button on these conversations when they get out of control. You want the impressions, but don't get sucked into the drama of other peoples petty feelings. It's not personal, but you're playing with fire here, use protection.
How Long Will This Take?
This process to get to 5 Million impressions will take 90-120 days depending on how long it take you to ramp up to 55.6K impressions a day.
If you're a bigger account you might be faster, but this is roughly what it took me. It'll be tiring, you'll be replying to a lot of big accounts, and there will be some monkeys and apes throwing shit at each other in the process.

If you need to take a break from it and try again later that's OK. This is the hardest step!! It took me 2 attempts to break this magic number.
But the magic day will come where you get a notice in your inbox. "You've been approved for X Ads Revenue Sharing"
Maximizing Your X Earnings
GREAT You’re in the X Ads Sharing Program. You're OFFICIALLY a professional shit poster!! 1 little problem.... you aren't getting paid that much... like maybe $5-10/ week. What gives? You've got the impressions!!
Turns out X doesn't actually pay you based on impressions... they pay you based on users who view Ads displayed under your posts and replies.
SO while you've "technically" met the impressions to be in the program.... you have the wrong kind of impressions.... whoops.
Level Up!
Don't be sad! You're still one of the cool kids, you just gotta level up your game some more.
So over the past 90-120 days while you were becoming an impression making machine you've likely picked a significant number of followers. Also the "Almighty Algorithm" has gotten to know you a bit better, it understands your niche, and who might be interested in your content.
You've become a much more influential shit poster. We just need to make some tweaks to your posts created on your main page to get the cash flowing.
To get more Ads Impressions under your posts we need to create more space for those ads to be displayed. Then more users to look thru the replies on these posts to view the ads.
You've probably noticed value dense posts don't do very well on X. That's because X doesn't make much money off people just reading your posts and moving on.
They need to read your post, be compelled to reply and look at ads displayed in your comments sections.

Now I know this article has gotten a little long so I'm going to hit these 4 points and wrap this up for you.
If you've made it this far you likely have what it takes to make money on X.
So let's maximize those efforts.
Asks open ended questions
By asking a question you prompt people to reply. Also if you ask the right types of questions people will want to see what other peoples responses are.
An example I did recently is below.

Boom 200,000 Impressions More importantly I got hundreds of replies, and hundreds of other people replying to those replies with more movie ideas.
Replies to my post = Ad space
Replies to those replies = People looking at ads
I really liked this post because it was
Relevant to my niche (Personal finance)
Was helpful (gave others movie ideas)
And was fun (I got some great movie suggestions)
Sell a dream
So this is straight up clickbait. You see it all the time, I kinda hate it but it WORKS every time. I try not to do too many but I will mix them in.
Examples:
"You won $1 Million in the lotto, what's your next move?"
"You inherited $250K what are you investing in?"
"You get paid $1,000/day to have a killer snail chase you, if it touches you you die. is it worth it?"
I think you get the idea people love the idea of all their problems being solved and being rich/ beautiful/ or somehow special.
We may like to think of ourselves as "Educators" here on X but as far as X is concerned we are entertainers here to sell ads for them.
So wiggle that booty and flash that cash, the people wanna see!
Here is an example I did recently offering $100/day to give up alcohol. not only is it selling the dream of free money, it also has the added kicker of no one wanting to admit they are an alcoholic compelling them to respond.
Tell a funny story
This is the 3rd category I've found has done well. People are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! You can be a breath of fresh air by steering clear of politics, or the latest celebrity drama.
Offer funny stories or a cute picture with a clever caption.
It won't do as well as some of the other stuff but it'll still do better than the value dense posts, and you'll usually pickup quality followers this way.
People love hearing about what makes you just like them. share your pet pictures. That bad date you had recently that ended up as a good story, or that one time in band camp...
Trigger Posts
You know what these are. Anything designed to compel a response. I really don't like these because they tend to be negative, (Which is why it’s last on the list) but it's highly effective.
Examples:
“Boeing 747 On FIRE in Miami”
“Trans person assaults man for being fearful of trans people”
"Insert Political Figure" caught "Insert made up crime"
You get the idea…

At first these upgraded posts you write may not be enough to keep your impressions over the roughly 5 million/3 months you need to stay monetized so watch your numbers and go post on the "Bigger Accounts" List as needed to keep your numbers up. but over time your content will reach enough people you can just be on X and you’ll get enough engagement to stay monetized.
